OUR MISSION:
Xaayda Wellness Society
Rooted in Culture. Guided by Community. Growing Toward Food Sovereignty.

Xaayda Wellness Society is an Indigenous-led non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, protecting, and sharing traditional knowledge related to food sovereignty, land stewardship, wellness, agriculture, harvesting, and cultural practices.
Founded on Haida Gwaii, our work is rooted in the understanding that healthy communities begin with strong relationships—to the land, the waters, our food systems, our Elders, and one another. Through workshops, mentorship, educational resources, documentation, and hands-on learning opportunities, we support the revitalization of traditional knowledge while creating pathways toward greater self-sufficiency and community resilience.
Our initiatives bring together Elders, knowledge holders, harvesters, youth, families, and community members to share skills in traditional food harvesting, seed saving, food preservation, medicine gathering, sustainable growing practices, and environmental stewardship. We believe some of the most important learning happens on the land and water, side by side, through experience and relationship.
At Xaayda Wellness Society, we are committed to strengthening Indigenous food systems, supporting intergenerational knowledge transfer, and creating educational resources that can serve our communities for generations to come.
Together we are planting seeds for healthier futures, stronger communities, and a renewed relationship with the knowledge that has sustained our people since time immemorial.
